Laempe Unveils New Generation of 3D Printers at “Open Week” – Rudolf Wintgens to Serve as Executive Advisor

Barleben/Schopfheim, April 1, 2026 – Laempe Mössner Sinto GmbH will open its Meitzendorf facility to customers, partners, and industry professionals in June as part of the inaugural “Open Week” (June 22–26, 2026). The event will focus on the presentation of the new generation of 3D printers for industrial core manufacturing. At the same time, the company is announcing a change in management: Rudolf Wintgens stepped down from his position on April 1, 2026, as part of the company’s long-term succession planning and will support Laempe in the future as an Executive Advisor.

Open Week: Insights into Industrial Applications of 3D Printing

With Open Week, Laempe is creating a platform to showcase current developments in the field of industrial 3D printing in a practical setting. Through guided tours, live demonstrations, and technical discussions, visitors will gain insights into the new generation of systems and their use in production environments. The public launch on June 23 is aimed at the press, political representatives, and selected partners, followed by additional event days for customers, partners, and young professionals.

“With Open Week, we are showcasing our current development work in 3D printing on a larger scale for the first time. What matters most to us is that we don’t just talk about potential, but demonstrate concrete applications that work in an industrial setting,” says André Klimm, Managing Director of Laempe Mössner Sinto GmbH.

The focus is on the new 3D printer (L3D-200), which Laempe developed in-house and which builds upon the printers currently in use at Inacore and BMW Group AG in terms of both engineering and technology. The system is currently the fastest and most versatile bidirectional 3D printer on the market and is designed for industrial use. Laempe’s 3D printer addresses key requirements of the foundry industry, such as productivity, process stability, foundry suitability, and integration into existing manufacturing processes.

It is already evident that the market is embracing the technology: several systems have already been sold, and additional projects are currently underway. As a result, 3D printing is increasingly evolving from a field of development into a robust industrial solution.

Open Week deliberately showcases Laempe’s entire range of services. In addition to 3D printing, the company will present its solutions in the areas of automation, traditional core making, and integrated production processes.

Laempe thus positions itself as a flexible partner to the foundry industry, covering all areas of core making and integrating different technologies into a functioning overall system. Accordingly, the event is not merely a product presentation but an insight into the practical implementation of modern core making.

Rudolf Wintgens: Transition to an Advisory Role

In parallel with its technological advancements, Laempe is restructuring its leadership. Rudolf Wintgens, who has shaped the company for many years as managing director, has stepped down from operational responsibilities. Going forward, he will support Laempe as an Executive Advisor, focusing on complex engineering projects, international client projects, and strategic issues.

“Rudolf Wintgens has shaped Laempe over many years with technical expertise, strategic clarity, and great dedication. We are extremely grateful to him for his contribution to the development of our company,” says Andreas Mössner, managing partner. Wintgens joined Laempe in 2009 as part of the integration of Röperwerk Gießereimaschinen GmbH and has since been involved in numerous technological developments – including key projects in the field of 3D printing.

With this new role, Rudolf Wintgens’ technical expertise remains firmly anchored within the company. At the same time, Laempe is consistently driving the further development of 3D printing. Open Week serves as a visible showcase for this: it combines insights into concrete applications with a clear signal to the market – that 3D printing is increasingly becoming an integral part of core industrial manufacturing.
