State Secretary Stefanie Pötzsch opened the public day of Open Week with a clear message about Saxony-Anhalt as an industrial hub. Speaking before customers, partners, employees, and guests from the business and political communities, she praised the role of the family-owned company as a driver of innovation and an internationally successful machine manufacturer: “Saxony-Anhalt needs companies that not only respond to existing markets but also actively shape technological developments. Today, Laempe impressively demonstrates how engineering expertise and innovative strength lead to international competitiveness. Companies like this are important anchors of our economic structure and strengthen the region’s appeal for investment, skilled workers, and new technologies.”
Open Week offers insights into technologies developed in Saxony-Anhalt that are used in industries around the world. The focus is on the new L3D-200 3D printer, which Laempe developed for the industrial mass production of sand cores and sand molds and which ranks among the most powerful solutions of its kind worldwide.
The L3D-200 enables highly automated and cost-effective production of complex cores and molds for modern cast components. Its speed, process stability, and scalability make the system particularly attractive to industrial users, suppliers, and foundries. Such systems are already in use today at the BMW Group, among others.
Innovation as a locational factor
“We develop technologies that are used worldwide and help shape the transformation of the industry,” explains André Klimm, Managing Director of Laempe Mössner Sinto GmbH. “Open Week offers an opportunity to showcase the innovative strength of our region. At the same time, it is a clear commitment to our location in Meitzendorf, where we have been investing, training, and growing for 30 years. As a family-owned business, we think long-term—for our customers, our employees, and the region.”
Rooted in the region—successful around the world
The development of the new generation of printers exemplifies the company’s innovation strategy. Research, design, manufacturing, and assembly all take place at the Meitzendorf site. From here and another location in Schopfheim (Baden-Württemberg), the company supports customers worldwide on challenging projects.
Open Week offers guests insights not only into the new 3D printing system, but also into modern automation solutions, current development projects, the company’s portfolio of core manufacturing technologies, and its international focus. Customers, suppliers, partners, and potential young talent are expected to attend. The program is rounded out by technical presentations, machine demonstrations, and factory tours. The event is thus not merely a product presentation, but a practical look at modern core manufacturing, automation, and integrated production processes.
