INACORE and the intelligent use of data as cover story in the VDMA magazine

Laempe can collect valuable application information from machines and systems in its subsidiary INACORE and thus control further developments and error corrections based on data analysis – an exciting field that made it to the title page in the VDMA Magazine 11/2019.

The VDMA Magazine is an institution of the German machinery and plant engineering association and in this market the publication with the highest coverage for professional decision-makers. In the November 2019 edition, the editorial team took a closer look at the joint venture between Laempe and Scheuchl, the INACORE in Ergoldsbach. The intelligent use of data at the company’s core shop and its role model for the industry even became the cover story of the magazine.

Under the heading "The Crux with the Data", the author of the report deals with the question of how Laempe as a manufacturer manages to collect valuable data from its machines – although many users are actually critical against this. The answer: The subsidiary INACORE, which manufactures sand cores for foundries (including BMW), also serves as a kind of digital showroom. Laempe's Managing Director Rudolf Wintgens explains to the reader how this works: "Since we at INACORE can also collect data in the production, we get very useful feedback and the data also has a very high utilization effect for Laempe. We deliberately set up INACORE to store as much information as possible and learn from it. "

Robert Krause, who takes care of the digitization and data collection on site, also has a say. He explains how the "Digital Cockpit" works – an intelligent software solution programmed by Pragmatic Industries, a data analysis company in which Laempe is involved. With the tool, production, technology, maintenance and repair can be analyzed and managed. And security is very important: The data is always stored in the respective machine; the retrieval is only possible with personal access codes. The next step at INACORE: The networking of the machines; and further, close cooperation with willing customers to work together on the data from the intelligent software – because companies can on average save 3.6% of their costs per year when using decisions from Big Data analytics.
